Tea merchants · from the garden to your cup

Tea picked at its peak, steeped with care.

Green, white, oolong and black teas bought directly from the gardens and sealed in small tins the season they are plucked. Every tea comes with its steeping guide: water, time and number of infusions.

Tasted cup after cup, harvest after harvest.

Through the round moon gate of a vermilion tea house wall, terraced tea gardens at dawn under a golden sun. A paper lantern glows in the corner. On the tea table, a celadon teapot pours amber tea into a porcelain cup, next to a jade tin of first flush and a sprig of two leaves and a bud. Teahouse First flush Darjeeling · India

From garden to cup

A tea merchant’s craft, one harvest at a time.

We taste every lot at the garden, buy it the season it is plucked and seal it away from light and air, so that it reaches your pot as fragrant as the day it was made.

  1. Pluck

Two leaves and a bud, picked by hand at dawn in small gardens, at the peak of each flush. Fewer than one lot in twelve makes our list.

  2. Craft

Withered, rolled, oxidised or not, then fired: each family has its own gestures, followed by the tea makers we have worked with for years.

  3. Seal & send

Sealed in airtight tins or refill pouches, the plucking date on the label, and sent with a steeping guide written for each tea.

The six colours of tea

One leaf, six families.

Every tea comes from the same plant, Camellia sinensis: the way its leaves are crafted, and how far they oxidise, gives each family its colour.
